This project was a first for MBC within the Waterfall area as well as the first time working with the developer / client, Attacq. One of the first challenges on site was the limited access and laydown area, as the building footprint (and that of the multi-level basement) extended across the entire site. The engineers opted for a ‘wet basement’ design to allow groundwater to freely seep through into the basement, which is then channeled to a sump and pumped to holding tanks and / or to municipal stormwater.
