The Phinda Forest Lodge is one of several &Beyond owned and operated lodges in the Phinda Reserve. It had been in operation for several years (23 years) and an upgrade was due. The newly-revamped Lodge now boasts a comprehensive upgrade to 16 guest suites, a boma, a main guest area, a safari shop, a main pool area, a new additional family suite, a gym, a spa, a lower rimflow pool, a sala, a fire pit on the deck and a new main guest viewing deck/sitting area. The local involvement from the community in the demolitions and wetworks boosted the momentum on the project handover dates and milestones were achieved ahead of time in order to ensure the final finishes ran smoothly. The project team and client also managed to erect an E-Bike facility for the latest E-Bike safaris and this was done within the last month by reusing existing materials and repurposing the project’s current building materials.
