This state-of-the-art 6000-seater auditorium has 15m long off-shutter cantilever beams that support the upper level of the auditorium. The spiral ramp is fully suspended from the roof, which is, in turn, supported by a 900mm diameter round column. The ramp is linked to all four floors as well as the basement to allow congregants to move freely between all levels. This ensures the flow of traffic is well regulated at peak operating times. The unique shape of the roof required 75m long sheets. These were rolled directly onto the roof by hoisting up the sheeting mill with a crane and discharging the rolled sheets directly onto the roof . This was the first time such an exercise was undertaken in Gauteng, South Africa.
