Westend D was a follow-on project to Westend Building C. Both office blocks were designed and built on a solid raft foundation structure. Westend Building D consisted of seven levels of concrete with the basement raft utilising 1600m³ of concrete, and an 800mm thick raft slab. We had a little more time to complete this project (approximately nine months). However, we had a full tenant TI fit out in addition to the construction of the office block, which made it challenging. Sanlam was the developers’ tenant. We met the program deadlines with all parties happy.
